Palm Beach State College - Eissey Campus - Earth Day 2012

Event is Free and Open to the Public

Palm Beach Gardens - In conjunction with Palm Beach State College's Gardens Going Green Sustainability Committee and the Community Earth Club at the Eissey Campus in Palm Beach Gardens, the College hosted a day of Earth Awareness Activities, including exhibits, demonstrations, music, food, movies and more.  Outdoor activities in the Pavilion and Amphitheater area start at 10:00 am and go through 2:00 pm.  It was a great day of activity.

 

 

Six Young Authors Honored at a National Meeting

We are very proud to announce that the award of "Young Promising Academic Authors" to six of Palm Beach State College's Math & Science Institute.  Please see the attached photo.  The award presentation was made at the Text & Academic Authors Association 2010 Annual Conference, Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 24-26, 2010.

 

The Gardens is Going Green!

The Eissey Campus, in response to the College Strategic Plan, will develop plans and participate in all necessary activities to establish an Energy Institute responsive to emerging green force industries and supportive of retrofitting existing programs.

In partnership with the Institute for Energy and Environmental Sustainability team, the PBG campus will participate in improving the campus’ green awareness, sustainability practices, and social responsibility consciousness.

Good News for Green Workforce Development at Palm Beach State College

There are good things happening at Palm Beach State College.  The College has established an energy and environmental institute to meet the community’s need for a highly-trained workforce in emerging Green Industry sectors (e.g., Renewable Energy, Hybrid Electric Power, Energy Efficiency management).  Officially named the Institute for Energy & Environmental Sustainability (IEES), its new director, Jay Matteson explains that in accordance with President Gallon’s Sustainability initiative, “the college is committed to the practice of sustainability in all areas and in becoming a leader in energy education in Florida.
